Things you DON'T want to hear from your dentist during a tooth extraction/surgery:
1. "Gusto mo makita yung buto mo? Yung sa panga? Sobrang puti oh. Dali bago natin isara yung gums mo."
2. While stitching my open gum, the other dentist said, "Naputol. Tingnan mo.Tatahiin mo uli yan. Higpitan mo ng konti para hindi masira."
3. While drilling my 3rd molar on the left (wisdom tooth), she kept on saying, "Hindi ko makita. Tama ba 'tong tinatamaan ko nito?"
4. When using a forcep (a smaller version of the picture here) to pull the tooth out, "Hala. Nabasag yung crown (head part of the tooth). Iisa-isahin natin yung root nito." It had two.
5. The damn impacted tooth was on my left side. And my dental surgeon (or whatever you call them, apparently there are cases when surgery is required instead of a normal tooth extraction) said to the other dentist, "Ang hirap naman. Hindi ako kaliwete. Dyan kaya ako?" After a few seconds, "Dyan na lang sa kanan. Mahirap pa din dito."
6. "After nito mamamaga yung panga mo. Parang sinuntok ka kasi lolobo ng ilang araw. Kaya magleave ka na."
After all of that, I survived the 5-hour surgery; traumatized and took brushing my teeth to a whole new level.
